Great News! Facebook would not allow us to “Boost” last weeks blog, stating that it was “too controversial”. We are elated by this news. Clearly we have struck a nerve. The Girlfriends intend to maintain our stance against American Apparel. We are dismayed and disgusted by ads that objectify women in this country and around the world. We are deeply concerned about the messages young girls are receiving.
We have spent the last week creating an action plan that our company, Three Girlfriends Productions LLC., will passionately engage in. It begins with a simple t-shirt and a powerful message.
THE STRENGTH OF MANKIND HAS ALWAYS BEEN ITS WOMEN
We want women of all ages around the world to claim the power of their own body. To claim the right to an education. We are confident that advertisements like American Apparel’s “Pussy Power” will become a thing of the past, as no woman would accept being pandered to and objectified in that manner. Call it whatever you want, but it is ours and can not be bought or sold.
This week Shauna and Shelley talked about Cameron Diaz new book, “The Body Book”. Cameron like The Girlfriends hopes to empower others to love their bodies. She outlines a strategy for becoming healthier, happier and stronger. We applaud Cameron Diaz and encourage you to read the book and check out her website dedicated to the cause at:http://www.ourbodybook.com/.
LOVE YOUR SELFIE begins! We all have things about our bodies we love and don’t love so much. It’s time to turn that around. Time to own our bodies, baggage, bags and sags.
The Oscars are the Super Bowl for The Girlfriends. We can not wait! Here are some fun facts you may not know about the Oscars. Starting with the fact that the Oscar statues are hand crafted in Chicago!
